WWW.GIRLAWHIRL.COM - ‘Citrus Salt Glow,’ as
Girlawhirl says these words aloud----albeit
in hushed tones---a
chill runs up and down her spine.
Discovered years ago in Aspen, on a ski/shopping
trip with one of her Superfriends, Citrus Salt
Glow quickly became the salt glow standard for
all the other glows to live up to...
Emollient but not too oily, fine grains
of salt that didn’t cause injury
when rubbed into the skin, and the most
wonderful
scent, it truly
reigned supreme in the kingdom of skin
softening.
After their discovery and subsequent emptying
of the tubs, Girlawhirl called the shop
called Skin to reorder… out of stock… for
ages! Then the shop, like the magical potions
they created, vanished. Not being an Aspen ‘regular,’ she
never did get the full scoop on the shop
closing, and had to be content with all
the fun of searching for a replacement.
Many years have passed , and yes, with
the advent of the non oily and sugar based
scrubs,
wonderful
high tech substitutions have lined the
edges of Girlawhirl’s showers and
tubs. There are many new favorites-of-the-moment
and
several
old standbys that never disappoint, but
nothing has ever taken the place of Citrus
Salt Glow.
And then, in another moment of magic, Girlawhirl
saw the words in print: Citrus Salt Glow.
She
held her breath as the web site loaded…
could it be? .and yes! There it was… with
new versions including a whole line of
sugar scrubs, and the rest of the contents
of the
original shops in Aspen, Vail and Avon,
Colorado. After reading the story of this
family business
and placing her order, Girlawhirl ran into
her
bathroom and cleared a space in her shower
worthy of the queen of the scrubs...

- "Skin, An Apothecary Honey Gel ($18 for
8 oz.) is an all-natural blend of pure alpine
honey, papaya, pumpkin, and vitamin E and wheat
germ oils. This mild formulation works well
for babies and those with sensitive skin or
eczema. It's available in Natural (unscented),
Cranberry, Apricot, Kiwi, Lemon and Mango. Another
original creation: Suds, a thick, creamy blend
of shea butter and glycerin packaged in a large
tub that you scoop out and use like soap. I
sampled it in Strawberry, which smells exactly
like fresh strawberries with a bit of cream.
Delicious. It's also available in a variety
of other scents including Tangerine, Chocolate,
Lavender Mint, Java Been, and Spiced Pumpkin."

-"I wrote to you in January about skin

wanted to let you know they are so very happy

sensitive skin and nothing she tried prior to
this helped. Therefore, I am ordering more of
your products; some for me this time!"

her pure Dead Sea Mud can inhibit conditions
like acne and psoriasis, about the real bottom
line "Claims, myth, folklore?" she
muses. "Ah there's the rub. But we all
know about the simple therapeutic effect of
learning to relax and allowing life to unfold
naturally. Can basic soaking in a tub allow
us the pleasure?"
To that question, we answer a resounding, YES!"
